Island Centre WayJelly Associates were appointed as professional quantity surveyors to manage all financial and contractual aspects of a £900,000.00 rebuild / refurbishment of a terrace of grade 2 listed houses following a fire.
Part of the works involved the replacement of the majority of the Victorian cut timber trussed roof structure destroyed by the fire. This was required to be replaced in an identical form along with the entire slate roof covering to the terrace to comply with the requirements of English Heritage.
Jelly Associates worked closely with the architects and structural engineers on this issue to produce a result that satisfied English Heritage, the Listed Buildings department of the Local Authority and the Insurers.
The team worked with the insurers to make sure that all reasonable requests of each individual tenant who had been affected by the fire was met where possible. The last tenant moved back in to the terrace in December 2007.
