Appointment of Jelly Associates by Uniq Prepared Foods
Jelly Associates were appointed as professional quantity surveyors to manage all financial and contractual aspects of a £3.0 million refurbishment to the existing St. Ivel desserts factory in Paignton, Devon which is part of the Uniq Prepared Foods group.
The major part of the project involved the replacing of all the underground drainage with stainless steel drains and manholes and replacing all the floor finishes and ceilings within the existing Main Filling Hall in phases whilst the existing factory continued to produce desserts maintaining the high standard of food hygiene essential in the modern food industry.
A large disused deep freeze building was also converted into a new Filling Hall which involved removal of an existing concrete floor destroyed by permafrost.
Jelly Associates obtained competitive quotations for the project, dealt with all contractual documentation and the appointment of a principal contractor. They managed the financial and contractual control of the project throughout including working closely with St. Ivel to ensure uninterrupted production throughout this complicated phased project.
The project was completed in June 2008
