Appointment of Jelly Associates by Lubborn Cheese

Jelly Associates were employed to look after all financial and contractual aspects of an 8,000M2 project comprising a 2,400M2 major new build ‘state of the art’ cheese production factory and a 5,600M2 extensive refurbishment of an existing warehouse facility and old farm buildings to convert them into specialised cheese storage areas and distribution centre providing the high standards required for cheese production and storage.

The project was required to be constructed whilst maintaining the existing warehouse as a distribution centre.  Once the new production facility was opened which included further specialised cheese storage areas, the existing buildings could then be refurbished and, in some cases, rebuilt.

Jelly Associates obtained competitive quotations for the project, dealt with all contractual documentation and the appointment of a principal contractor.  They managed the financial and contractual control of the project throughout including dealing with the principal contractor ceasing trading just as the project was reaching completion.  Jelly Associates and the rest of the building team dealt with this problem with minimal effect on the project programme and no effect on the financial success of the project.

The factory was opened by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales in July of 2003.
